Our STEP mock papers are being rewritten
The STEP mock papers are being rewritten to the same standard as our ESAT papers. Until they meet it, nothing is published here.

Why the page is empty rather than half full
There were eight questions here. They were written before our ESAT standard existed, and the page had to explain a way of working that has since been replaced. Rather than leave them up under a description nobody should have to read, they are withheld until they are rewritten the way our ESAT papers are. They are kept, so the rewrite is not a fresh start.
What they will be
The same standard as our ESAT papers, which are free to use today:
- Built to feel like the exam itself. The same length, the same pace, the same kind of traps.
- A written mark scheme for every question, so you can mark your own proof the way an examiner would.
- Mapped to the specification, question by question. Every question is written against a named topic, so coverage is something we can count.
We give no date for them: they go up when they meet that standard, not before.
Useful in the meantime
STEP rewards recognising which shape of argument a question wants, and that habit can be trained before any mock exists. The official STEP papers from past years, with their examiners' reports, are the best practice there is.
