About Mintnib

Mintnib is practice for university admissions tests. It exists because the tests are tightly timed and the published preparation mostly teaches content, when what decides the paper is method: knowing which questions to answer first, which ones to leave, and the shortcut that turns a four minute question into a one minute one.

Who writes the questions

Lucas Rey, a DPhil candidate in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford with an MRes from the University of Cambridge, writes them and tutors students for these tests. Every question is written for the specification it tests and checked by hand before any student sees it. Lucas holds a DBS certificate.

Nothing here is a past paper. Questions are written fresh, so practising them cannot be confused with recalling something you have already seen.

How the questions are checked

Every question is answered independently before it is published, and its solution is read for the method it teaches, not only for the final answer. Questions that do not teach something a student can reuse are thrown away rather than published.

Independence

Mintnib is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the organisations that set these tests, and it never publishes their questions. Their specifications, dates and rules are theirs, and should be read on their own sites.

Contact

Email hello@mintnib.com. Questions about an account, a pass or a refund are answered by the same address.

Lucas Rey also writes and teaches at lucasrey.com, where one to one lessons and his research live.
